Who could you be at GHD?

In Townsville, our Building Engineering team delivers innovative and resilient design solutions across defense, commercial, industrial, residential, and community sectors — with a strong focus on constructability, sustainability, and regional performance is on the lookout for our next graduate in 2026  With a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and an interest in Building Engineering, your passion for solving complex treatment challenges and improving operational efficiency will serve you well in this role. 

Here's a bit more about what you'll be doing:

• Help monitor and oversee the delivery of works to ensure that construction, maintenance, or improvement works are delivered in accordance with quality, cost, and time requirements.
• Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
• Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
• Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.

Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.

Here's what to expect, step by step:

• Screening: We review applications as they come in, but be mindful that the bulk of our screening happens after applications close, so don't worry if you don't hear from us right away. 
• Video interviews: If you make it through the first stage, you'll record some answers to a few straightforward questions. This helps us get a sense of your communication style and what excites you about GHD.
• Meet the team: Next, you'll have a face-to-face or virtual interview with your prospective team. We'll chat through some behavioural based questions to learn more about your skills and experience. It's also a chance for you to get to know us
• Psychometric assessments: These quick tests give us a glimpse into how you like to work and your strengths in relation to the role, complementing what we learn during your interview.
• Offer: Congratulations If you're successful, we'll talk through all the finer details, like salary, your start date, and our background checking process.

Most of our full-time roles kick off in February 2026, though some teams might have earlier start dates in mid-2025. Plus, there might also be casual work opportunities throughout your final year of study to give you a head start.
