ABOUT THE ROLE

Barker College is seeking to appoint an experienced Mathematics Teacher located on our Hornsby Campus.

This will be a permanent full-time (1.0FTE) role commencing 1 January 2026.

Barker College runs an orientation event for new staff on 22 January 2026, prior to the whole staff returning for Professional Development on 27 January 2026.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong academic background and have a passion for Mathematics. The ability to teach up to and including HSC Extension 1 and 2 Mathematics may be an advantage.

Applicants for this position should be excellent classroom practitioners, good team colleagues, interested in the care and welfare of students, and have particular skills in their teaching of Mathematics to equip them to contribute to the School's educational program in teaching and learning.  Applicants will also need to be exemplary in their use of educational technology in the classroom.

  • Barker College will require all Teaching Staff to provide evidence of their Tertiary Qualifications and have an understanding of and experience in relevant NESA syllabus documents and teacher accreditation requirements.
  • All teaching staff participate in the School's extensive Pastoral Care and co-curricular programs.  The ability to coach sports is highly desirable.
