Village Caretaker

As the Caretaker at Vimiera Village in leafy Marsfield, just 20 minutes from Sydney CBD, you'll enjoy being an essential part of the team to ensure the smooth running of the village, the safety of the residents, and the upkeep of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Assist the Senior Village Manager with all aspects of village operations
• Provide care and oversight for assisted living residents with empathy and respect
• Manage the 24/7 emergency response telephone during rostered weeks
• Supervise and coordinate cleaning within the village
• Organise and oversee repairs and maintenance, liaising with the handyman and contractors
• Identify and address areas of need, escalating issues when required
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful community environment
• Comply with organisational policies, OH&S guidelines, and all relevant legislation
• Participate in meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Protect confidentiality and uphold resident dignity at all times

About You:

• Passion for working with older people and creating a positive community atmosphere
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to remain calm and responsive in emergencies
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment and embrace village culture
• Current First Aid & CPR certification are required

• Location - Vimiera Village, Marsfield, NSW – just 20 minutes from Sydney CBD
• Employment Type - Permanent Part Time – 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (Live-in role)
• Competitive salary – $65,000 per year + superannuation
• Accommodation included – A 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom partly furnished Independent Living Unit within the village
• Utilities included – electricity and water
