About The Opportunity
The Bankstown Assertive Outreach Team is seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Mental Health Professional to join our dynamic service. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering recovery-oriented, strengths-based care to individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness.
Operating under a Flexible Assertive Community Treatment model, the team provides support across a 7-day rotating roster, offering varied shifts (8:30am–5:00pm, 10:00am–6:30pm, and 2:00pm–10:30pm) to meet the needs of consumers and carers.

The Community Mental Health Service is committed to providing a supportive environment where staff are empowered to achieve their full potential. You will be based at Bankstown, however future opportunities may also present at Liverpool, Ingleburn, Campbelltown, Ambarvale, Fairfield, Bowral and Wollondilly based mental health services.

What You'll Be Doing
The Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating consumers' recovery plans. The role is also responsible for non-clinical tasks including participation in quality improvement activities, clinical supervision and participation in administrative responsibilities as required.

Where You'll Be Working
SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney.
These services cater to different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer a range of supports, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy. They work closely with inpatient services, GPs, and other community organisations to provide holistic care.

- Relevant qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or CSU Graduates: Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health).
- Please provide a detailed description of your interest and motivation in applying for this role highlighting your relevant skills & experience in providing assessment and treatment for consumers of the mental health service.
- Using an example, describe a time where you have had to work as part of a team to solve a problem. Outline the communication skills used and how you ensured the problem would not occur again.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
