The Opportunity

We're looking for talented tax professionals to join a market-leading M&A / International Tax team in Melbourne. Whether you're stepping up as a Senior Consultant (likely newly Admitted Solicitor or recently completed CA), or a more senior Manager / Senior Associate, or a more experienced practitioner (established Senior Manager or Senior Associate), you'll work on some of the most complex, high-profile transactions in the Australian market - across Infrastructure, Private Equity and Property deals.

This firm's M&A Tax practice is the genuine market leader, and advises multinational corporations, private equity, private companies, and institutional investors on all stages of the M&A life cycle. From tax structuring, due diligence and modelling through to deal execution and post-acquisition planning, you'll be part of a collaborative environment where technical excellence meets commercial impact.

Responsibilities


• Advise on domestic and international tax matters linked to acquisitions, disposals, restructures, IPOs, refinancing, and fund creation.


• Provide buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence, transaction support, structuring advice, and post-deal implementation guidance.


• Manage project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams across geographies.


• Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering clear, concise advice on complex tax issues.


• Support, mentor, and develop junior team members while staying on top of evolving tax laws and market trends.

Qualifications & Experience


• Experience in Australian tax consulting within a top-tier accounting, corporate, tax advisory, or legal environment.


• Exposure to inbound and outbound transaction consulting, international tax research, and planning.


• Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to translate complex concepts into practical advice.


• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead teams and juggle priorities.


• For Senior Consultant roles: ~2+ years' experience.


• For Manager roles: ~5+ years' experience.


• For Senior Manager roles: ~7+ years' experience, with a proven track record leading significant client engagements.
