We're seeking skilled, passionate, and resilient individuals to join our wildfire and forestry teams across Eastern and Western Australia. Whether you're a seasoned firefighter, a forestry expert, or an emergency response specialist, your skills are vital in safeguarding our natural landscapes, communities, and wildlife from the devastating impacts of wildfires.
Key Activities
● Bushfire Mitigation & Response – Support seasonal fire operations, including hazard reduction burns and active fire suppression where required.
● Invasive Species & Weed Control – Conduct mechanical or chemical treatments to control unwanted vegetation.
● Forest Hazard Reduction – Assist with hazard tree removal, fuel load management, track clearing, and supporting sustainable forest practices.
● General Field Support – Carry out day-to-day operational tasks as assigned, including equipment checks, crew transport, and environmental monitoring.
Note: Work activities vary by location, season, and operational needs. Flexibility and a team-first mindset are essential.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
● Maintain Safety Standards – Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
● Punctuality & Reliability – Arrive on time, prepared for work, and ready for deployment in varying outdoor conditions.
● Effective Communication – Report to your supervisor daily and work collaboratively with fellow crew members.
● Equipment Use & Maintenance – Operate tools (e.g., chainsaws, spray units) safely and perform basic maintenance as needed.
● Adaptability – Take initiative and respond professionally to changing conditions, schedules, or task requirements.
● Compliance – Uphold environmental and regulatory standards in all forestry and fire-related activities.
Essential Requirements:
● Minimum 2-3 years of firefighting experience (wildfire or prescribed burning).
● Current Chainsaw qualification (mandatory).
● Valid Driver's Licence (ability to operate 4WD vehicles in adverse Conditions preferred).
● Ability to pass pre-employment and random Drug & Alcohol tests.
● Physical fitness for demanding outdoor work in varying conditions.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Essential):
● Experience in forestry operations (e.g., timber harvesting, reforestation).
● Chemical Weed Spray Certification (AQF3 or equivalent).
● Certifications in wildfire suppression (e.g., Advanced Firefighter, Crew Leader).
● Heavy Rigid (Unrestricted) License
● Crew Leader Training - Certification
