Jewellery Product Developer Manager

This role is full-time working with us in our beautiful 600 sqm all-in-one HQ / Showroom and Studio in Byron Bay.

The Product Development Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end development of new jewellery collections – taking designs provided by our in-house design team and transforming them into finished, production-ready pieces. This includes material sourcing, prototype development, pricing, and managing supplier relationships. While the role does not involve designing the product, the Product Development Manager plays a critical role in advising on feasibility, construction methods, and optimisations to ensure each piece meets our standards for quality, commerciality, and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the jewellery-making process, an eye for detail, and exceptional project management skills.

• Collaborate with the design team to translate creative concepts into technically viable products

• Manage critical paths and timelines for product development from sketch to sample to final production

• Liaise with local and international suppliers, manufacturers, and artisans to develop prototypes and ensure production feasibility

• Source new materials and components in line with aesthetic, quality, ethical and cost requirements

• Oversee product costing, ensuring designs meet margin targets without compromising on quality

• Conduct fit, wear and material tests to ensure product quality and durability

• Maintain and update product specifications, technical drawings, and bills of materials

• Identify and implement product improvements based on customer feedback and sales performance

• Ensure alignment with brand values and sustainability goals in every product developed

• Work cross-functionally with sales, e-commerce, marketing and logistics teams to ensure readiness for launch

• Support post-launch product refinements and lifecycle planning

• 5 years experience in product development within the jewellery or luxury accessories industry

• Strong knowledge of jewellery manufacturing techniques, materials and production processes

• Experience working with both handmade and cast jewellery is highly regarded

• Exceptional supplier management and negotiation skills

• High attention to detail and strong organisational and time management abilities

• Commercial mindset with a solid understanding of pricing, margins and production costing

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and product lifecycle software (e.g., PLM systems)

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

• Passion for jewellery, design innovation and ethical production practices

• Experience working with international production houses or offshore manufacturers

• Knowledge of CAD or 3D design software

• Understanding of compliance standards and hallmarking regulations
