About the Role:

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Structures, you'll carry out high-quality structural maintenance and modifications on helicopters, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with apprentices, engineers, and supervisors to support timely project delivery and customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural repairs, inspections, and modifications per company procedures and Civil Aviation Regulations.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA).
  • Maintain accurate job cards, logbooks, and work documentation.
  • Raise and manage Additional Maintenance Requirements (AMRs).
  • Support planning of materials and manpower to meet schedules and reduce delays.
  • Supervise apprentices and contribute to their development.
  • Communicate with customers, providing technical feedback and updates.
  • Actively participate in Safety Management System (SMS) and WHS programs.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Quality & Safety: Uphold the highest safety and workmanship standards. Contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Leadership: Guide and mentor apprentices. Provide clear instructions to less experienced team members.
  • Project Delivery: Monitor aircraft/project progress, manage costs and timelines, and coordinate with Engineering Services.
  • Customer Service: Respond to technical queries and support maintenance supervisors with customer updates.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work complies with CASA and international aviation standards.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Proven experience in aircraft structural repairs, heavy maintenance, and modifications.
  • Understanding of aviation maintenance regulations (CASA).
  • Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Basic ERP systems and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Preferred:

  • Experience under CAR 30 and Part 145.
  • Prior work in a similar-sized MRO or aviation organisation.
  • Bell helicopter type experience (advantageous but not essential).
