About us:

The Cardiac Investigations Unit offers a range of cardiac diagnostic services including echocardiography, exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, exercise stress testing, tilt table testing, and ambulatory ECG and BP monitoring. Expansion to Cardiac Services will see a Cardiac Catheterisation Lab (CCL) commence in 2026 with Cardiac Physiologist led haemodynamic monitoring.

About the role:

The Cardiac Physiologist (Senior) delivers high level Cardiac diagnostic testing to a varied nature to inpatients and outpatients of the Rockhampton Hospital within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). This position is required to exercise a high level of independence and represent Cardiac Investigations Unit on relevant committees or portfolio(s).

About you:

  • The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree in science/applied science (or equivalent qualification) with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology.

  • Relevant additional or evidence of considerable professional development in areas of cardiac diagnostic services (i.e. Echocardiography, Cardiac Catheter Lab, Pacing, Electrophysiology)

  • Registration or membership with appropriate registration authorities or associations (i.e. Australian Council for Clinical Physiologists).

  • Where Echocardiography is the applicant's sub-specialty, the successful applicant must provide evidence of the completion or current enrolment in the QUT Graduate Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac).

  • Where Echocardiography is the applicant's sub-specialty, registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry (ASAR)

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $ $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
