We have 3 positions to fill at our wonderful preschool in Mentone:

1. Diploma/Certificate III Educator - 4 year old groups (rotational timetable)
2. Diploma/Certificate III Educators - 3 year old group
3. Diploma/Certificate III Educator - Lunch Cover

POSITION TITLE: Diploma/Certificate III Educator - 4 year old groups (rotational timetable)

POSITION TYPE: Part Time

Hours: Total 18.75, 15 hours contact and 3.75 non contact.

Monday and Thursday (contact days) 8am - 4.30pm

Tuesday: 1.75hr per week planning with the 4 year old teaching team.

LOCATION: Mentone Pre School, 6 Station Street, Mentone 3194

REPORTING TO: 4 year old teachers

Position description – educator — lunch cover

POSITION TITLE: Diploma/Certificate III Educator - Lunch Cover

POSITION TYPE: Part Time

Hours: 7.5 hours per week

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday : 12.30pm - 3pm

Tuesday and Friday with the 3 year old group. Thursday with the 4 year old groups.

This position is for an Educator who will cover the staff during their lunch breaks.

LOCATION: Mentone Pre School, 6 Station Street, Mentone 3194

REPORTING TO: Teacher/s on duty, person in charge

Additional details for all 3 roles:

Requirements:

● Current Working with Children Check (WCC).

● Current Mandatory child protection training and knowledge.

● Current Victorian Police check (desirable)

● Two (2) professional references

● Candidates to have permanent or temporary work rights in Australia with no restrictions. We are unable to provide sponsorship at this time..

Qualifications:

● Must hold a qualification of a Certificate III and/or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care recognised by ACECQA.

● Hold a current ACECQA compliant First Aid Certificate, including Resuscitation, Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis.

Experience:

● Previous experience working in the early childhood sector

Skills:

● Thorough understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and/or Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and be able to apply them in their teaching practice.

● Sound knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.

● Thorough understanding of the National Quality Standards (NQS).

● Demonstrated understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.

● Awareness of the Kindergarten Funding Guide.

● Knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements.

● Sound understanding of the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS), Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS), and Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM).

● Have a sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development and education.

● Ability to develop, document, and implement a high-quality, developmentally appropriate education program for kindergarten children, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

● Knowledge of work health and safety legislation, employee responsibilities, safety practices, and safety issues for children and staff.

● The ability to plan, work, and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.

● Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with the approved provider, children, parents, other staff, and professionals.

● Ability to work in a cooperative, flexible, and professional manner with children, parents, staff, and approved provider.

● Well-developed leadership and self-motivation skills.

● Ability to ensure confidentiality of information.
