The Opportunity
Do you have a knack for animal husbandry and a commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare? We are seeking an experienced and skilled Livestock Coordinator to join The Environmental Sustainability Team. You will play a crucial role in providing specialist support for our farm operations and production under the guidance and supervisor of the Farm Production Coordinator. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys hands on work with livestock and is dedicated to implementing best practices in farming. You will be responsible for a wide range of farming duties including animal husbandry, pasture management and asset maintenance.
The Livestock Coordinator will perform animal husbandry tasks such as vaccinating, drenching, breeding, and mustering, while also monitoring livestock health particularly during critical periods like calving and adverse climate conditions. You will manage joining cycles to ensure genetic diversity and high probability of successful pregnancies. You will develop and implement an optimal feeding program and plan quarterly livestock sales projections and purchases.
The Livestock Coordinator will implement regenerative agricultural practices for pasture. crop, and land management as well as manage irrigation efficiently. You will be responsible for maintaining detailed livestock records using software such as Agriweb, ensure compliance with chemical use and storage regulations, adhere to Biosecurity and Local Land Service legislation and industry standards, as well as follow all University policies. Additionally, you will assist with the maintenance and operations of farm infrastructure and equipment and provide support for teaching and learning activities.
This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Hawkesbury Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.

About You
You will have demonstrated experience and training in agricultural and farm operations particularly in grazing operations, pasture and crop management and the operation and maintenance of farm equipment. You're a strong team player with who excels working collaboratively with various members of the University community. You hold a current driver's license preferably including heavy vehicle and motorcycle.
Additionally, you are capable of undertaking physical work related to animal husbandry procedures and general farm maintenance tasks.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 5 - $99,521 to $112,546 p.a. (comprising Salary of $84,096 to $95,103 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
