Family Lawyer

Village Family Lawyers is a progressive, growing, boutique family law practice with beautiful office premises situated in both Mount Eliza and Malvern in Victoria.

We are seeking to employ a passionate family lawyer (Senior Associate/Special Counsel) with a minimum of 5 years of post-admission family law experience.   This role is for the Malvern office.

Ideally, the position is full-time, however; substantial part-time hours would be considered. I.e. 4 full days, or school hours over 4 - 5 days.  A hybrid (office/home) model would also be considered.

• experience with proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Court appearances and instructing Counsel;
• broad experience in complex parenting and financial/property matters, maintenance applications, divorce and Intervention Orders;
• precise legal drafting;
• a commercial and resolution focused mindset;
• a willingness and passion for mentoring less experienced practitioners;
• competence with cloud-based practice management software.  E.g. Smokeball, or similar software;
• attention to detail and management of deadlines; and
• an interest in networking with allied professionals.

• LIV Specialist Accreditation in Family Law;
• Master of Laws (Family Law).
