  • You will be teaching in a small multiage classroom setting with a rich nature based learning program and cross-curricular opprtunities.
About the Role

The successful applicant will be joining a positive work place where staff engage in a daily meditation practice to support wellbeing and strengthen their ability to teach the Australian Curriculum within a Buddhist philosophical setting.  Each day you will be modelling your curiosity and commitment to exploring mindfulness and meditation strategies in the classroom with your students and colleagues.

You will be responsible for planning the learning program within a multi age setting with the support of a dedicated literacy tutor and specialist Chinese language, STEM, Performing Arts and Visual Arts teachers.

You will work alongside like-minded and positive teachers who team plan for our Bush School and Compassionate Citizens programs.  This collegial approach flows into mutual support for our advanced integrated wellbeing approach and how we manage our classrooms.

This position is in a classroom setting of 15 students and enables strong relationships based teaching with the identification of individual learning needs and teaching to the students' curiosity and love of learning.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Bachelor of Education - Primary (or Equivalent), VIT Registration.
  2. Understanding of the Australian Curriculum and a desire to plan and implement innovative engaging and authentic learning programs.
  3. Excellent ability to understand a diverse range of student learning needs, and the ability to guide learning based on on-going formative assessment.
  4. Experience and/or desire to work in a multi-age class.
  5. Committed to developing strong partnerships with families and being part of an engaged and friendly learning community.

  7. Strong desire to bring learning to life and connect children with the local community through our Compassionate Citizenship program and our Bush School curriculum at Cornish Hill.
