A State Sales Manager, NSW will drive substantial sales growth by fostering strong customer relationships and executing strategic plans. Your leadership will cultivate a high-performing, customer-centric sales team, ensuring the achievement of ambitious sales targets and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Contribute to and execute regional sales strategies aligned with national objectives to achieve operational goals.
- Team Development: Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing sales and operations team. Set clear goals, monitor performance, and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Customer Engagement: Expand and maintain a robust customer base by building strong relationships with key clients and identifying new business opportunities.
- Market Insights & Reporting: Analyze regional market trends, prepare insightful reports, and identify growth opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ensure accurate customer data and segmentation to support targeted marketing campaigns and performance tracking.
- Operational Excellence: Support initiatives to enhance profitability and cost efficiency across the region.
- Event & Campaign Support: Plan and participate in roadshows, expos, and customer site events to promote brand visibility and engagement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders across a matrixed organization to drive alignment and results.
- Compliance & Governance: Uphold company policies and standards, including Code of Conduct, EH&S, ESG, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of B2B sales experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role within the Electronics or MRO industry.
- Proven success in consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong strategic thinking and agility in identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and retain high-performing teams, including remote management experience.
- Financial acumen and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Self-driven with a proactive approach to goal setting and execution.
- Proficient in business planning and project management.
- Resilient under pressure with a commitment to quality outcomes.
- High emotional intelligence and a strong desire for continuous learning.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
Desirable Attributes
- In-depth local experience in sales management within a large MRO supplier.
- Background in complex distribution or solution-based businesses.
- Familiarity with MRO procurement strategies, eProcurement, sourcing, or inventory solutions.
- Knowledge of key sectors such as Manufacturing, Automotive, Industrial, Government, Aerospace, Defence, Transport, Utilities, and Facilities Management.
