Behaviour Support Practitioner – Dubbo
Empowering positive behaviour and wellbeing for all ages.
At Spear & Arrow, we do things differently. We are an NDIS-registered behavioural and therapeutic support provider based in Dubbo, NSW. Our work is grounded in compassion, perseverance, and respect, and our mission is to reach the hearts and souls of the communities we serve.
We are looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner who shares our belief that small, consistent steps create meaningful change. You will join a team that values collaboration, connection, and a shared commitment to helping people live safer, more independent, and fulfilling lives.
The role
You will work with children, young people, and adults to understand and manage behaviours of concern in a safe, respectful, and practical way. You will focus on skill building and positive behaviour strategies that reduce restrictive practices and improve quality of life.
Your work will include developing interim and comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans under the NDIS Commission framework. You will also collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure every approach is person-centred, practical, and effective.
Spear & Arrow is home to a dedicated Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) team, alongside specialists in behaviour, occupational therapy, and therapy assistance. While not every participant accesses all parts of our service, you will have access to this multidisciplinary expertise, including Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Assistants, and Key Workers. This enhances your professional growth and client outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop interim and comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
- Provide skill-building strategies tailored to individual goals and abilities
- Coach and guide families, carers, and support teams to apply strategies confidently
- Collaborate with internal and external professionals for consistent, high-quality support
- Review progress, adapt approaches, and celebrate outcomes along the way
- Work flexibly across home, community, and telehealth environments
About you
You are compassionate, curious, and confident in your practice. You value teamwork and know that real impact comes from consistent, collaborative care.
You will bring:
- Qualifications in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Allied Health, or a related field
- Provisional or full registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner under the NDIS
- Experience supporting people with Autism, trauma backgrounds, or behaviours of concern
- Strong communication and report writing skills
- A commitment to evidence-based, person-centred practice
Why Spear & Arrow?
- Multidisciplinary expertise across Behaviour Support, Occupational Therapy, and Early Childhood Early Intervention
- Hybrid work options with flexibility for home, community, and office-based work
- Ongoing professional development, supervision, and peer collaboration
- Supportive, values-driven culture that celebrates progress and perseverance
- Opportunities to grow your career in a team that is breaking the mould in disability support
Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 (pro-rata for part-time) + super, based on experience
Location: Dubbo, NSW (Wiradjuri Country). Hybrid and flexible arrangements available.
If you are ready to make a genuine impact and help create brighter futures for people of all ages, we would love to hear from you.
