We're Hiring: Accounts Assistant (15-Month Maternity Cover)

Location: Chatswood NSW [Hybrid Working Arrangement] | Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (15 months)

Are you a detail-driven finance professional looking to expand your experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We're looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our collaborative Finance team and play a key role in supporting our financial operations during a 15-month maternity cover.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in Accounts Payable and financial accounting who is keen to take ownership of key finance processes, work alongside an experienced Finance Manager, and contribute to the overall success of our business.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be a crucial part of our finance function, helping to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

* Managing the full Accounts Payable process from invoice intake to payment runs

* Handling employee expense reimbursements and purchasing card reconciliations

* Maintaining the Retail Customer Ledger and reconciling payments

* Updating and managing the Fixed Asset Register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation

* Assisting with month-end and year-end close activities, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations

* Supporting bank reconciliations, intercompany charges, and accruals

* Preparing monthly payables and PPE reports

* Assisting with the annual audit and other internal control processes

* Managing vendor data and bank detail verification

* Collaborating with internal departments and external vendors to resolve queries

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

A degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent (CPA qualification desirable)

Experience & Skills:

* 2–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Financial Accounting

* Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy

* Proficient in **Microsoft Office**, especially Excel (intermediate to advanced level)

* Previous experience with **Business Central** and **Concur** (or similar ERP/expense platforms)

* Process-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to improvements

* Clear and confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills

* Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently with minimal supervision
