Menai Anglican is seeking a Children's Minister to join our staff team in term 1, 2026, or earlier. This role is for a mature Christian leader who is passionate about seeing disciples being made in an ever-increasing number, reaching children with the gospel, partnering with families, and equipping teams of leaders to serve Christ for years to come.

The ideal candidate will be someone who loves teaching children but has the capacity to lead, train and celebrate the work of almost 100 volunteers in multiple teams.

Menai Anglican Church is a reformed evangelical church located in the western part of the Sutherland Shire, with about adults and children in attendance each weekend. Our children's ministry is large and growing. We are currently experiencing a mini baby-boom and many families with young children are joining us.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and grow our children's ministry, which currently includes:
• Sunday Morning Kids Church (Infants and Primary) and Little Church (Nursery and Preschool)
• MAC Mondays Afternoon Kids Club (mixed infants / 3-6 boys / 3-6 girls)
• July Holiday Kids Club (two day program repeated)
• Oversee the two p/t staff members who currently assist and report to the Children's Minister:
• SRE Coordinator - SRE in six local schools (30 classes)
• 0-5 Coordinator - Playspace (three midweek playgroups) + Little Church
• Recruit, train, and encourage leaders and teams.
• Oversee safe-ministry.
• Provide age-appropriate, Bible-centred teaching resources.
• Welcome and connect with families, including those exploring Jesus for the first time.
• Work closely with our staff and congregational teams to see children and families growing in Christ.

Key Requirements

• A mature Christian with strong reformed evangelical convictions.
• At least one year of theological training, preferably more.
• Experience leading children or youth ministry teams in a church.
• A team player, wanting to contribute to the broader work of the church and willing to submit to leadership.
• Valid Working with Children Check and up-to-date Safe Ministry Training.
• Experience in teaching, leadership, and team development.
• Relationally mature, able to connect with children, parents, and leaders.
• Experience in conflict resolution and managing expectations.
• Organised, proactive, and a great communicator.
• This person would attend one of our other congregations and be an active member of one of our Growth Groups.
