Stage 3 Classroom Teacher

Saint Ignatius' College Riverview is a Catholic boys' school in the Jesuit tradition. Located on picturesque grounds in Lane Cove, this leading independent school delivers a holistic education for day and boarding students from Years 5 to 12.

The College is seeking to appoint an exceptional primary teacher to join our Regis Campus which caters for approximately 200 young boys across Stage 3 (Years 5 and 6). In collaboration with the Head of Regis, colleagues and parents our teachers of Year 5 and 6 have the responsibility for the academic, pastoral, social and spiritual well-being for the students in their homeroom.

The position is full-time (1.0 FTE), ongoing commencing 20 January 2026.

ABOUT YOU:

The successful applicant will:

• accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to be eligible to teach in NSW.
• be an outstanding classroom teacher of Stage 3 (Year 5 and 6)
• possess excellent communication skills and easily form positive relationships
• exhibit superb organisational skills, allowing you to cooperatively plan with other teachers to manipulate and interpret school data from a range of sources
• demonstrate experience in implementing Positive Behaviour learning systems in a primary school context to manage student behaviour
• have a high level of skill in planning, organising, implementing, and supporting engaging classroom programs that align with best practice 21st Century pedagogy
• be committed to collaborative teaching and learning practices to increase student engagement particularly in a stage 3 context
• proven ability to bring about successful outcomes in all key learning areas with exemplary expertise in English and Mathematics
• demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
• demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the Mission and Values of the College
• be willing to contribute to the co-curriculum programs at the College
• hold a current Working with Children Check and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of children and young people.
