Fitter (General) [WA]

Tutt Bryant Hire is one of Australia's leading hire companies with branches across Australia. We provide plant and equipment hire to a variety of industries from general earthmoving, civil construction, mining and rail maintenance, industrial services and tradies.

We are seeking an experienced person for the position of Fitter (General) based out of our Bunbury branch.

The essential tasks of this role include:

·       Diagnosing faults in and performing operational maintenance of equipment

·       Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts

·       Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed

·       Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of equipment and ensure compliance with pollution regulations

·       Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance

·       Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers

·       May erect machines and equipment on-site

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate the following:

·       AQF Certificate III including at least three years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV

·       At least two [2] years work experience

·       Safe working track record

·       Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

·       Ability to work unsupervised and

·       Ability to work within a team environment

·       White Card (Construction Industry)

·       Able to pass a Pre–employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen

·       Excellent Time Management

·       Good Communication and Literacy

·       Flexibility

·       Valid Drivers Licence

An attractive remuneration package is on offer for this position with a base salary of $80,000 - $90,000 (depending on the level of experience) and other company-provided items and benefits.
