About the Role:

We are seeking a Qualified Welder or a 2nd/3rd Year Apprentice Welder to join our dynamic team at Echuca Engineering. This is a full-time position based in our Echuca, Victoria workshop.

Echuca Engineering provides comprehensive manufacturing, maintenance, and repair services to clients across the food, agriculture, earthmoving, commercial, and recreational sectors. A specialist area of our business is supporting the bulk fuel and dangerous goods transport industry, where we perform SLP (Safe Load Program) inspections, testing, repairs, and maintenance.

In this role, you will:

· Fabricating and manufacturing custom projects to meet client specifications

· Undertake maintenance and repair work on a wide range of equipment and machinery

· Fabricate and modify parts and components as required

· Work closely with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

· Ensure all work meets relevant safety, compliance, and quality standards

· Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all work performed

· This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and precision work.

What You'll Be Doing:

· Performing MIG/TIG welding and fabrication tasks

· Reading and interpreting technical drawings and job specifications

· Assisting with general workshop duties, including machine operation and assembly work

· Working on custom fabrication projects with attention to detail

· Following workplace safety procedures and maintaining a clean, safe environment

What We're Looking For:

· Qualified Welder OR currently a 2nd/3rd Year Welding/Fabrication Apprentice

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

· Good work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Skills & Experience with fabrication machines and tools

· Previous welding/fabrication experience (apprentices welcome with workshop exposure)

· MIG/TIG welding skills (further training provided if apprentice)

· Forklift or other tickets (advantage but not essential)

Pay: $28.60 – $35.00 per hour
