This exciting opportunity will support a coordinated, landscape-scale approach to bushfire risk mitigation. You'll work closely with communities, landholders, and agencies to develop shared understanding of local risks and facilitate collective action through sustainable, ecologically sensitive practices.

Initially, your focus will be on communities surrounding the Wombat State Forest in CFA's West Region, with the role evolving over time to take broader cross-tenure approach. You'll build strong place-based partnerships and apply inclusive, evidence-based methods to support meaningful, community-centred outcomes.

As part of the regional Community Safety team, this role also contributes to the state-wide, multi-agency Community First program, aligned with Victoria's Bushfire Management Strategy.

Be part of a team working towards safer, stronger, and more connected communities at risk of bushfire.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends to engage with volunteers and community groups.
  • Some regional travel is required (a CFA vehicle will be provided).
