About the Role:

Strait Link is seeking a skilled and reliable Container Reach Forklift Operator to join our Melbourne team. In this role, you'll play a key part in the safe and efficient movement, storage, loading and unloading of freight from a combination of trucks, mafis and yard storage areas, to keep our logistics operations running smoothly.

We're looking for a proactive and safety-focused individual who works well in a team and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate reach forklifts to safely move, stack, and retrieve freight
  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets
  • Ensure container lifts are within rated capacity
  • Conduct daily pre-start checks, test lifts and basic forklift maintenance
  • Accurately pick, stage, and store stock in allocated locations ensuring the correct movement and distribution of freight in a timely manner.
  • Record and track freight movements accurately
  • Restrain loads safely as well as with the correct use of straps where required.
  • Safely position and latch spreader onto containers
  • Identify damaged and report them in accordance with site processes.
  • Ensure compliance and safety are always adhered to.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and operational instructions including communication signals and best mobile practices

About You:

  • Understanding how to operate the reach stacker safely, including pre-start checks, load handling, and shutdown protocols
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to follow instructions and work autonomously where required
  • Safety-conscious and reliable
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Full Rights to Work in Australia

Required Professional and License Qualifications:

  • TLILIC0011 – Licence to Operate a Reach Stacker (Greater Than 3 Tonnes Capacity)
  • TLILIC0011 Assessment
  • RS High-Risk Work Licence
