We're on the lookout for a values-driven, people-focused leader to join our new executive team as Director Sustainable Communities. This is more than a leadership role - it's a chance to make a real difference in the lives of our community and help shape the future of our city.

As part of our new executive team, you'll work closely with our incoming CEO to build a high-performing, values-led culture that puts people first, inside and outside the organisation.

What you'll be leading

You'll oversee a broad and impactful portfolio that touches every corner of community life, including:

• Family, youth, children's and aged care services
• Strategic land use planning, Social Planning, Economic development, Sustainability and Waste Management services
• Statutory Planning, Environmental Health and Building Services
• Arts, cultural and community development services
• Recreation and Leisure services

Your leadership will help bring to life the aspirations of our Community Vision 2030 and Council Plan 2025–2029, ensuring our services and projects support the health, wellbeing and prosperity of our diverse communities.

Who we're looking for

You're a strategic thinker and a collaborative leader. You bring integrity, empathy and a deep understanding of how local government works. You've led multidisciplinary teams and know how to navigate complex policy, legislative and governance environments but more importantly, you know how to bring people together to get things done.

You might come from local government, the not-for-profit sector or another public-facing organisation, what matters most is your commitment to community, collaboration and continuous improvement.
