About the Role

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join the Transperth Train Operations Division in a permanent, full-time role as
Depot Master
. Based in Claisebrook, this is an operational role that supports the Depot Manager - Claisebrook in the effective management of depot activities, contributing to the smooth delivery of passenger rail services across the network.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Roster and Timekeeping Management:
    Prepare and adjust driver rosters in line with industrial agreements and oversee payroll data accuracy using PTA systems.
  • Coordinate Railcar Movements:
    Manage railcar allocations, yard movements, and service preparations to ensure timely arrivals and departures from Claisebrook Depot.
  • Support Operational Incident Response:
    Liaise with Network Control and ground staff during incidents, providing leadership and logistical support as required.
  • Facility and Asset Oversight:
    Maintain depot buildings, staff amenities, and equipment to PTA standards, including responding to fire and security alarms.
  • Team Leadership and Staff Support:
    Mentor and support depot staff, ensuring compliance with safety policies, operational procedures, and professional standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in operational environments, with a sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles, policies, and practices relevant to the Railway industry.
  • Proficient in computer-based applications, with strong skills in rostering, timekeeping, and/ or resource planning functions.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and manage conflict within a diverse workforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret industrial Awards and Agreements and apply this knowledge to staff rosters and advisory support provided to management and employees.

This is an operational role that requires availability to work across a 24-hour, 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.

There is
two
permanent, full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months to fill vacancies that may arise.
