About Co-Hive
More about the Band Facilitator role at Co-Hive
Co-Hive is a unique organisation established in February 2024, supporting young adults with disability and low support needs (ages 17–35) to build independence, confidence, and skills for post-school life. In less than two years, we have grown to support over 100 participants and have just expanded to our second hub. We offer a range of programs across employment, tertiary education, independent living, and community participation
About The Band Program
The Co-Hive Band is one of our creative programs, giving participants the chance to come together to make music, build friendships, and perform as a group. This is about teamwork, expression, and celebrating the joy of music.
The program is structured around accessible and inclusive sessions that give participants the opportunity to:
- Explore rhythm, voice, and instrument skills in a supportive group setting.
- Build confidence through rehearsal and performance.
- Develop social and teamwork skills by collaborating on songs and setlists.
- Experience the buzz of performing for audiences at Co-Hive events and beyond.
About The Facilitator Role
As the Facilitator, you will:
- Lead up to 10 participants in weekly rehearsals, supported by Program Assistants.
- Prepare and deliver structured, engaging sessions that balance learning, practice and fun.
- Tailor activities to different levels of ability and interest, ensuring everyone has a role to play.
- Build participants' confidence and performance skills, supporting them to share their music at community events.
This is a chance to join Co-Hive at a time of growth, with the expansion of our hubs and the ongoing success of our programs. You will play a vital role in making music accessible, inclusive, and exciting for young adults with disability.
Commitment:
Program is delivered 2 hours per week, once a week.
