We're looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Labourer Operator in our Linemarking Division. This is a hands-on, outdoor role offering a genuine opportunity to build a long-term career in a specialised trade.

The successful applicant will have a strong interest in developing skills in linemarking machine operations, with the role naturally progressing toward more machinery operation over time. While initial duties will include general labouring tasks, the position is designed for someone eager to learn the linemarking process, take on increasing responsibility, and grow into a key operational team member.

About the role

  • Based in Ulverstone, with a mix of local work and travel to sites across Tasmania
  • Includes overnight stays, night shifts, and weekend work on some projects
  • Begins on a casual basis, with the potential to transition to full-time employment following a performance review period
  • Ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing a job well, and values being part of a supportive team environment

Key Tasks

  • Prepare surfaces and apply linemarking using machines and stencils
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Operate linemarking machines and equipment
  • Follow safety and environmental procedures
  • Complete basic job paperwork
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Assist other divisions when required

Experience and qualifications

Essential:

  • White Card (Construction Induction Card)
  • Current Manual Driver's Licence
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable and consistent work ethic
  • Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and stay away when required (appropriate penalty rates and allowances apply)
  • Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Construction Industry practices
  • Knowledge of linemarking machinery and techniques
  • Linemarking experience
  • Traffic Control and Implementation tickets
  • MR or HR truck licence
  • Interest in long-term career development within the industry
