About CDS
The Centre for Disability Studies (CDS) is a non-profit organisation affiliated with the Sydney School of Health Sciences at the University of Sydney. Since 1997, CDS has been committed to improving the lives of people with intellectual disability through research, education, clinical services, and inclusive practice. Our mission is to create and disseminate knowledge that enhances autonomy, inclusion, and wellbeing for people with intellectual disability.

About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Clinical Services Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership across CDS's health and clinical services. This includes the Complex Care Service (CCS), the Instrument for the Classification and Assessment of Support Needs (I-CAN) and its related projects (including I-CAN DSOA), as well as other clinical projects and consultation. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of nurses, allied health professionals, and our clinic doctor to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and support.
Key Responsibilities
Complex Care Service (CCS)
- Lead and manage the CCS team to deliver timely, person-centred care for people with complex health needs
- Oversee clinical governance, including risk management, and quality assurance processes
- Support clinical decision-making and drive continuous improvement in workflows, training, and service delivery
I-CAN Program
- Provide leadership and oversight across all I-CAN related projects, ensuing compliance with contractual, reporting and quality assurance requirements
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and innovation of the I-CAN tool, including assessor training and credentialing
· Supervise and support project officers in the coordination and delivery of I-CAN activities, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high standards of practice
Leadership & Representation
- Provide clinical consultation across CDS projects
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
- Represent CDS in national and international forums
- Ensure ethical, person-centred practice across all services
About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience
· Degree in Allied Health, Nursing, or other relevant health professional
· Eligibility for AHPRA registration or professional membership
· Current NDIS Worker Check, or willingness to apply
· Proven experience in clinical leadership and service management
· Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and quality standards
· Experience working with people with intellectual disability or other relevant disability sector experience
· High-level computer skills
· Proven ability to work independently, prioritise and meet deadlines
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Good time management and organisational skills
· Current driver's license
