Latitude Recruitment is proud to partner with West Wimmera Health Service (WWHS) in seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the team at Iona Digby Harris Home in Nhill, 4.5 hours from Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role delivering high-quality care within a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee a team of nursing professionals and health care workers, ensuring excellence in clinical care, resident support, and operational management. This position plays a critical role in leading innovation, ensuring compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, and mentoring the next generation of aged care professionals.

Move to Nhill for a regional lifestyle, or work Monday to Friday and go home on weekends


About the Role

  • Full-time position based at Iona Digby Harris Home, Nhill
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Oversee resident care, staff performance, and regulatory compliance
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and accreditation processes
  • Be a key member of one of Victoria's most trusted regional health providers

Key Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience with aged care documentation systems and funding tools
  • Sound knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Ability to resolve conflict, manage performance, and lead change
  • Understanding of legislative frameworks in health, safety, and EEO
  • Immunisation history and current Police Check, WWCC & NDIS Check (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management, or aged care
  • Experience in managing residential aged care services in rural settings
