Female Support Worker

Rates: $33–$60 per hour (depending on experience and shift type)

We're seeking a compassionate and reliable Female Support Worker to provide consistent, person-centred support for an NDIS participant in Mona Vale (NSW) who is recovering from a stroke. This role is ideal for someone patient, engaging, and experienced in mobility assistance and personal care.

About the Role

You'll provide hands-on support to promote independence, safety, and confidence both at home and in the community. The participant enjoys social outings, conversation, and simple activities like Scrabble, and values routine and morning support when energy levels are highest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and hygiene support, including assistance with continence and dressing.
  • Assist with safe transfers and mobility using a walking frame.
  • Support gentle community engagement (e.g., short walks or café visits).
  • Monitor wellbeing, hydration, and fatigue throughout shifts.
  • Encourage independence and dignity in all daily activities.

Shifts

  • One weekday morning (any day except Monday)
  • Saturday morning
  • 2–3 hours per shift to start with
  • Start date: ASAP

Requirements

  • Female Support Worker (preferably aged 50+)
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services
  • Experience supporting individuals post-stroke or with mobility challenges
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check & Police Check
  • First Aid & CPR
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Confident using mobility aids and manual handling techniques
