The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Physical Education (PE) Teacher and Sport Coordinator to join our team on a part-time, ongoing basis. This role is a 0.4 FTE position, providing specialist PE classes and coordinating the school's sports program. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive and active sports culture throughout the school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an engaging and innovative Physical Education curriculum for students from Foundation to Year 6.
  • Coordinate all sporting activities and events, including inter-school competitions, sports carnivals (athletics, cross-country, swimming), and recreational programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance and inventory of all sports equipment and facilities.
  • Promote student well-being, teamwork, and sportsmanship through participation in physical activity.
  • Liaise effectively with staff, students, and parents regarding the sports program.
  • Provide support and supervision for staff and students involved in extra-curricular sporting activities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Is an engaging and motivating teacher with a strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogy in Physical Education.
  • Is highly organised, able to manage and administer a comprehensive school sports program.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the Catholic ethos and the values of St Brendan's.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Holds a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  • Has a relevant tertiary qualification in Physical Education or a related field.
