NBMLHD is seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager Grade 8 to join our Nursing & Midwifery Directorate Leadership team. This pivotal position provides strategic, operational and professional leadership across the Nursing and Midwifery Workforce, supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe and patient-centred care throughout NBMLHD. Our Nursing & Midwifery Directorate is at the heart of driving excellence in Patient Care, Nursing Leadership, Workforce Development and Strategic Service planning.
The Nurse Manager provides leadership through Management, Development and Implementation of sustainable strategies that facilitate efficient and effective delivery with the implementation of new Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Care initiatives and has a lead role in implementing transformational leadership programs and cultural change. This position provides advice, support and management on contemporary Nursing and Midwifery initiative projects/programs, such as alternate models of Nursing and Midwifery care, in conjunction with Senior Nurse Managers and Clinicians within NBMLHD.
With a passion for innovation, workforce development and improving patient care you will work collaboratively with other directorates including Clinical Governance to embed the patient safety & quality initiatives for Nursing and Midwifery sensitive key performance indicators, including National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, related Policy Directive, Pressure Injury Prevention, Falls Prevention and Harm Minimisation, Recognition of the Deteriorating Patient, Clinical Handover.

What you will bring to the role:
- Current registration - Registered Nurse, Division 1- Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and ability to travel in accordance with the position.
- Relevant tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in health management; education or similar studies; health policy and planning; business or associated fields or working towards same.
- Demonstrated advanced communication and people skills including verbal and written forms and skills in using electronic communication modes; together with an ability to negotiate and problem solve and the capacity to influence health professionals.
- Significant experience in Nursing Management with a demonstrated record of achievements especially those in Human Resource Management, Financial and Performance Management and Project delivery.
- Excellent leadership skills including the ability to create a shared vision among team members and stakeholders and the capacity to influence organisational change.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and the capacity to apply knowledge and skills to developing innovative improvement strategies.
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge to lead, manage, initiate and achieve innovative organisational wide strategies to ensure the Nursing and Midwifery workforce is capable of responding effectively to the increasing service delivery needs.
- Experience in managing complex projects and the ability to negotiate/resolve complex operational issues, including driving transformational change.
