Overview:

Ohlmec Pty Ltd, based in Subiaco, is seeking a skilled and dependable Fitter to join our team on a full-time basis across mine sites in Western Australia. This hands-on role involves the precision installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical components and machinery used in industrial operations. We are looking for someone who brings technical competence, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and apply technical drawings and specifications to accurately assemble mechanical systems.
  • Operate and adjust machinery and tools to fabricate or repair parts and assemblies.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and respond to mechanical breakdowns efficiently.
  • Modify components to suit operational requirements and ensure reliable machinery performance.
  • Conduct performance tests and calibrations to confirm equipment functionality.
  • Maintain clear service records and comply with all workplace health and safety protocols.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in mechanical trade.
  • Alternatively, at least three years of relevant full-time work experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • Additional on-the-job training or experience may be required depending on operational needs.
  • Proven experience in fitting, assembly, and mechanical servicing across industrial machinery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to mechanical detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and contribute within a team environment.
  • Understanding of WHS practices and ability to work safely and efficiently.
  • Must have the legal right to work in Australia.
