About the Role
We're seeking an experienced, highly capable service electrician to take the lead of our largest Government site — where you'll spend around 50% of your time completing PPM, reactive maintenance, upgrades, and small project works. You'll be the primary on-site representative for PEG, maintaining strong relationships, delivering high-quality work, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
The remaining 50% of your time will be spent supporting our wider service team across commercial sites — servicing facility management clients, property managers, and assisting with small projects such as EV charger backbone installations, shop fit-outs, and refurbs.
This role suits a technician who can confidently manage key clients, work autonomously, adapt to a variety of environments, and step into a leadership role when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technician for a major Government site (PPM, maintenance, small projects, client liaison)
- Deliver high-quality service work across multiple commercial clients
- Fault finding, troubleshooting, upgrades, and project delivery
- Lead and support small projects(EV chargers, fit-outs, refurbs)
- Represent PEG professionally and maintain strong client relationships
A Day in the Life
You start the morning by grabbing a coffee, checking your schedule in simPRO (job management app), and heading straight to our largest managed Government site — the site you take ownership of. Once you're onsite, you dive into the day's PPM tasks, inspections, and maintenance items. As you work, the facility manager might flag a few issues needing attention — maybe a faulty circuit, a lighting fault, or a small upgrade they'd like you to take a look at. You handle these confidently, keeping communication clear and making sure the client knows they're in good hands.
After wrapping up the essential works and updating the client on progress, you shift gears and support our wider service team. This could mean attending a service call for one of our facility management clients, helping a property manager resolve an urgent maintenance request, or assisting the team on a small project.
At the end of the day, you check in with the office and the rest of the team — sharing updates from the government site, reviewing any follow-up works, and confirming your schedule for the next morning. You upload your job notes, make sure everything is closed out accurately in simPRO, and tidy up the van so you're ready to roll out again. Then it's back home knowing you've delivered solid work, supported key clients, and kept a variety of jobs moving smoothly across the board.
What We're Looking For
- A licensed/fully qualified electrician with minimum 5+ years of post-qualification relevant experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Current driver's licence, White Card, and in-depth knowledge of Australian Standards.
- Familiarity with job management software like simPRO (bonus points if you've used it before).
- Great time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Clear, friendly, confident, and calm – on the phone, and under pressure.
- A proactive, can-do attitude – think 'glass half full'.
- Someone who thrives in a young, fast-paced, high-performance team.
- High attention to detail – to show you've read this ad carefully, include the letters HATD at the bottom of your cover letter.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- EWP licence
- WWCC (Working with Children Check)
