About the Opportunity:
The Risk Analyst position plays a critical role and forms part of Tokio Marine's second line of defence.
This position will partner closely with the Senior Risk Manager, and wider Risk and Compliance, engaging directly with the business at all levels.
The role is responsible for strengthening and embedding the operational risk management framework, supporting business objectives within Board approved risk appetite, and ensuring compliance with APRA and broader regulatory requirements.
This role will include:
- Assist the continued development and upkeep of Tokio Marine's enterprise risk management and compliance processes, systems, and programs, including the measurement of internal controls and risk appetite tolerances and indicators.
- Support and drive key initiatives within the risk management department, for example current activities in relation to Business Continuity Management, Controls Self-Assessment, risk profiling workshops and First Line Internal Controls Monitoring, etc.
- Assist the development and conducting of the second line assurance program, including testing of key controls, reporting and monitoring.
- Development of regular risk reporting to management, senior executives, and the Board of Directors.
- Support Line 1 operations within all business units in advising on matters pertaining to their responsibilities and accountabilities for risk management and maintaining effective internal controls.
- Work towards influencing material decisions utilising a risk-based and compliance lens.
- Play a supporting role in embedding a sustainable culture of risk and compliance awareness and management that is consistent with core values and closely aligned with the TMMA strategic plan.
- Assist the business on continued compliance with all relevant APRA prudential standards and compliance obligations.
About You:
As our preferred candidate, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce or Diploma equivalent
- ANZIIF or KAPLAN certificates, including RG146 is highly desirable
- Hold a minimum 3 years' risk and compliance experience in general insurance or financial services, having engaged with APRA and ASIC.
- Hands-on approach to delivery of risk objectives.
- Ability to effectively reporting to risk advice and reporting
- Strong knowledge of APRA prudential standards (CPS 220, CPS 230), the Privacy Act, and ASIC regulatory requirements.
- Experience providing independent risk oversight for large-scale change or regulatory programs
