My Automotive is a purpose-built cosmetic repair and customisation workshop on the Gold Coast, servicing private clients, dealerships, and trade partners across South East Queensland since 2008.

We specialise in alloy wheel repair, bumper restoration, blackout styling, brake caliper painting, and other cosmetic refinishing services that transform and enhance vehicles — always with a focus on precision, presentation, and quality.


The Role

As a Junior Spray Painter, you'll work on vehicles, wheels, and parts under the mentorship of the Production Manager and senior painters.

You'll be hands-on doing spray painting, blending, colour matching, prep work, and the finishing touches that make our work stand out.

This role suits someone with at least a year's spray-painting experience who's ready to refine their technique and grow within a high-quality cosmetic repair team.


What You'll Do
  • Prep, prime, colour-match, and apply topcoats on wheels, panels, and components
  • Mix paint accurately using solvent and 2K systems
  • Perform blending, touch-ups, and fine finishing work
  • Assist with masking, sanding, and booth maintenance
  • Follow WHS procedures and maintain a clean, safe workspace
  • Take feedback, learn, and grow your spray-painting capability

What You Bring

Essential

  • 1+ year experience in automotive spray painting or refinishing
  • Competence with spray-gun setup, paint mixing, and colour matching
  • Familiarity with refinishing systems (2K, base/clear)
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Reliable, punctual, and motivated to improve

Desirable

  • Partial completion of Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology
  • Experience in wheel repair, bumper, or cosmetic restoration environment
  • Current driver's licence
