About the role
Jungle Zoo Early Learning Centre is seeking a part-time Groundskeeper and Handyman to join our passionate team in Whitsundays, Queensland. In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and facilities of our state-of-the-art early learning centre, ensuring a safe, clean and visually appealing environment for our children, families and staff.
What you'll be doing
- Perform regular grounds keeping duties such as mowing, edging, weeding, and leaf/debris removal to keep the exterior of the centre well-maintained
- Carry out general handyman tasks including minor repairs, painting, and maintenance of the centre's facilities and equipment
- Identify and report any issues or areas requiring attention to the Center Manager
- Assist with the set-up and pack-up of indoor and outdoor activities and events
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, adhering to relevant health and safety regulations
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in a similar grounds keeping or handyman role, preferably within an early childhood or educational setting
- Strong practical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and complete a variety of maintenance tasks
- Good time management and ability to work independently to complete tasks efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- A current driver's licence and your own reliable transportation
- Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check and undergo a National Police Check
