An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Office Manager to join a high-performing government team on a 12-month contract. This role is critical in ensuring office functionality, security compliance, and effective stakeholder management.

Role Overview
The Office Manager will coordinate accommodation management, security risk frameworks, and service delivery across designated office locations. This includes managing refurbishments and maintenance, responding to urgent building issues, providing expert advice on facilities and protective security, and ensuring compliance with government standards and policies. The role requires on-site attendance and may involve managing staff and out-of-hours responsibilities.
About the Person
The successful candidate will be a highly organised professional with proven experience in facilities, accommodation, or property management within a government environment. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills, the ability to handle competing priorities, and sound judgement in managing risks and emergencies. A proactive communicator, you will thrive in stakeholder-focused environments and bring high levels of integrity and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accommodation and office functionality, including refurbishments, fit-outs, and repairs.
- Provide operational advice and training on protective security frameworks and asset management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for urgent building issues and emergency responses.
- Support staff with workspace allocations, events, and WHS requirements.
- Liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and building management to ensure service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records, conduct stocktakes, and provide informed reporting.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- In-depth understanding of property, facility, risk, and asset management in line with government legislation and guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage service disruptions and emergency situations with sound judgement.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities, lead staff, and manage competing demands.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships.
- Experience managing office relocations, fit-outs, or layout changes.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to manage records and asset registers.
Australian citizenship and a current Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance are mandatory.
