About Access SA

At Access SA, we believe work should be a place where people thrive. We're part of Centacare Catholic Community Services, and for over 30 years we've been South Australia's go-to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider.

We support individuals and organisations across South Australia, Australia and New Zealand with confidential counselling, wellbeing programs, and trauma response services. Our work is fast-paced, meaningful, and grounded in care.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a skilled Counsellor who is passionate about helping people navigate challenges in both their personal and professional lives.

You will work:

  • Monday, Tuesday and Friday: 9:00am-5:06pm
  • Wednesday and Thursday: 12:00pm - 8:06pm

In this role, you'll:

  • Provide short-term, solution-focused counselling (individuals, couples, and groups).
  • Support workplaces through critical incident and trauma response (including some onsite work).
  • Support clients in managing mental health concerns through clinically informed, evidence-based interventions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety planning when needed.
  • Keep accurate case notes and contribute to team reporting.
  • Be part of an on-call roster and respond to ad-hoc requests.

What You'll Bring

  • A degree in Psychology or Social Work (with eligibility for APS/AASW membership).
  • At least 5 years' counselling or clinical experience.
  • Confidence working with people facing mental health challenges and complex needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills — you're a great listener and communicator.
  • A current DHS WWCC Check and Driver's Licence.

It's a bonus if you have:

  • Experience in organisational counselling or workplace trauma support.
  • Used Athena Penelope (or similar client management systems).
