Diesel Mechanic

Gippsland Body Builders is a local family ran business specializing in the manufacturing of semi trailers & truck bodies.

Gippsland Body Builders are currently looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join their busy team.

If you're looking for a change and want to work in a clean workshop on primarily brand new truck & trailer fit outs, this is the role for you

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Brand new & used truck fit ups eg: hydraulic pumps, valves, cab controls etc.
• EBS system fit outs, sign offs & error/fault diagnosis.
• Fit suspension, running gear, landing legs and skid plates.
• Position and fit under body components, which will include toolboxes, control box, and spare wheel carrier.
• Fastening wire looms, fit and connect lights to front, sides and rear of trailer.
• Install hydraulic lines & hoists.
• Maintain & service company vehicles.

Desirable attributes, but not essential, include:

• Good understanding of hydraulic systems
• Good understanding of truck & trailer tippers
• Experience in heavy vehicle maintenance / service and repair
• Knowledge and understanding of OH&S legislation.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Desired (but not essential) licenses & qualifications:

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent experience)
• Current forklift License
