Custom Air Automotive Air Conditioning is an established business with 33 years experience specialising in Design, Manufacture, Supply & Installation of Custom, Sleeper Cab Air Conditioning Systems & Customised Sleeper Cabin Fit outs. Our Head Office & Factory is based in Somerton Victoria.

We have several divisions that make up our company which cover Design, Metal Fabrication, Assembly, Painting, Installation & Upholstery.

Due to the continued growth of our company, we currently have an opportunity for a Motivated & Suitably Experienced - Spraypainterto join the team with any of the below preferred qualifications and attributes.

This role requires a self-motivated, responsible person with excellent trade qualities & Communication skills who is able to work unsupervised and as a part of a team, reporting direct to the Production Manager.

The succesful applicant should have experience in surface prep, spray painting, and applying protective coatings to metal. Experience in powder coating is an advantage.

Our Ideal applicant:

• Trade Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or equivalent Qualification
• Min 3 years of previous and recent industrial painting & blasting experience
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions &/or specifications
• Previous experience in industrial painting or a similar role
• Understanding of various painting techniques, coatings, and equipment

Responsibilities and activities will include:

• review painting specifications and comply with the required standards
• mix and match paints and coatings according to spec & paint codes within supplied PPG software
• clean and prepare surfaces as required (sanding, cleaning etc)
• ability to apply protective coatings using spray guns as per required specifications
• inspect surfaces for defects and ensure a quality finish
• maintain painting Quality & efficiencies
• operate, maintain & Clean painting equipment safely & efficiently
