Primary Teacher (K–6) – Christ-centred. Data-informed. Team-driven.
At St Mark's Coptic Orthodox College, we pursue academic excellence and character formation within a distinctly Orthodox, Christ-centred community. We are growing and seek a Primary Teacher who is warm, organised, and ambitious for student growth.
Join a high-performing K–6 team where clarity and support meet ambition: shared planning and coaching, well-resourced classrooms, and strong behaviour systems that let you teach, not firefight. You will design rigorous, differentiated learning, use data to target instruction, and partner with families and colleagues to grow every child—academically, spiritually, and socially. If you bring professional curiosity, a growth mindset, and alignment with our Orthodox ethos, you'll thrive here and have genuine runway for impact and leadership.
About the RoleWhy St Mark's
- Clear behaviour expectations and leadership backing.
- Coaching, curriculum support and funded professional learning.
- Collaborative teams with shared planning and resources.
The role
- Plan and deliver high-impact teaching; differentiate using data.
- Build strong routines and a safe, purposeful classroom.
- Contribute to the life of the College and our Christian ethos.
Criteria
- Student growth: how you would use evidence-based teaching and data to lift results.
- Classroom culture: how you build a calm room and work with parents.
- Literacy & numeracy: how you differentiate (support LS/EAL/D and extend high achievers).
- Teamwork: experience with shared planning; openness to coaching and PD.
- Ethos: how you support our, Christ-centred values and College life.
What you will need
- A tertiary qualification in Education.
- NESA accreditation (or eligibility to teach in NSW) and successful completion of LANTITE.
- Strong curriculum knowledge and sound pedagogical practices.
- A commitment to professional learning and evidence-based teaching.
- Adaptability and enthusiasm to contribute to a positive, Christ-centred school culture.
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one before commencement)
- Right to work in Australia
- A vibrant, supportive Christian community grounded in Orthodox faith and values.
- A data-driven, future-focused educational setting.
- A culture of collaboration, innovation, and striving for excellence.
- Opportunities for professional growth and leadership.
If this sounds like the right next step in your career we'd love to hear from you.
Please submit your CV and a one-page cover letter addressing the "criteria", along with your NESA accreditation status, WWCC number, and the contact details of two referees (including a current manager). Applications will be reviewed as they are received and interviews scheduled accordingly.
St Mark's Coptic Orthodox College is a child-safe employer. All appointments are subject to Working With Children Check clearance, reference checks, and safeguarding screening.
We welcome applications from experienced educators or graduates, who can actively support our Christ-centred, Orthodox ethos while contributing to a high-performance, team-based culture.
