To continue meeting customer demand and upholding its reputation for excellence, FRANKY'S CAFE PTY. LTD. requires a skilled and experienced Pastry Cook to join the team on a full-time basis. This role is vital to maintaining the café's daily production of pastries, cakes, and desserts while ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, tarts, and desserts to meet daily service requirements and special orders
  • Accurately measure, mix, and prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and creams to achieve consistent product quality
  • Operate and maintain pastry equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofing cabinets to ensure efficient production
  • Decorate and finish baked products using glazes, icings, and other techniques to enhance appearance and maintain brand standards
  • Monitor the taste, texture, and presentation of products to ensure they meet quality expectations and customer satisfaction
  • Organise production schedules and workflow to meet deadlines, special events, and seasonal demand
  • Check ingredient freshness, manage stock rotation, and store ingredients properly in line with food safety standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the pastry section in compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety regulations
  • Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen assistants or pastry staff as needed

Skills & Experience Required

  • At least 2 years' experience as a pastry cook or in a similar commercial baking environment
  • Certificate III in Patisserie or equivalent formal qualification
  • Sound knowledge of pastry and dessert preparation techniques
  • Competence in food handling, storage, and kitchen safety procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a small team
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and creative presentation skills
