Job Description:

Allegro Energy, a relatively new battery company located in Newcastle Australia, is seeking a skilled and passionate Electrical Engineer with a passion for clean technology. As an Electrical Engineer at Allegro Energy, you will be a vital contributor to the development and integration of cutting-edge energy solutions, shaping the future of sustainable energy practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components.
  • Support the creation of technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop innovative solutions for project challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations..
  • Provide support for project planning and cost estimation.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 0-2 years experience in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of power electronics components, including inverters, converters, and controllers.
  • Programming of STM, TI, Microchip MCUs. Knowledge of peripherals such as ADCs, PWMs. Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, SPI etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with basic ML models such as regression, classification, and reinforced learning, anomaly detection will be an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in renewable energy, battery storage, or grid integration.
  • Proficiency in simulation and modelling software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, PSCAD).
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C/C++, or others relevant to control systems.
