Financial Analyst

Location – Parramatta

Employment type – Ongoing Full Time

Salary – Clerk Grade 7/8 – $113,574 - $125,720 plus employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.

Your role

This role is all about business partnering, bridging the gap between our business operations and the central Finance team, providing crucial financial insights to help our senior staff make informed decisions.

What you'll do

As part of the Finance and Procurement Services division, you'll be working closely with divisional executives, helping them navigate their operational budgets. You'll be responsible for developing budgets, preparing high-quality financial reports, and offering strategic advice to ensure we meet our goals. Your role will also involve engaging with stakeholders, providing financial advice, and identifying budget pressures to implement effective mitigation strategies.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in finance, with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline. Experience in a similar role would be a plus. You'll need to be proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to take on challenges head-on.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate for this Financial Analyst role is a proactive and strategic thinker with strong project management expertise, financial acumen, and a passion for transformation initiatives. They should have a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with additional qualifications in project management being highly desirable. A background in financial analysis, business partnering, and transformation projects will be crucial for success.

In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • An in- depth understanding of financial processes, core financial terminology, policies, and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modelling and analysis, budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in identifying issues, analyse data, identify trends and provide actionable insights and solutions.
  • Proven experience in engaging with senior executives and key stakeholders to provide financial advice and support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, build networks, and provide commercial advice to stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • High ethical standards and the ability to act with integrity, ensuring compliance with legislation and policy frameworks.
