About the Event

The Real Santa Experience is a premium Christmas activation designed to immerse families in a magical winter wonderland. Guests enjoy a professional photo session with Santa Claus (solo, duo, or family) and can drop their wish list in Santa's North Pole mailbox. Digital photos are delivered directly to guests, with additional packages available for purchase. Each ticket is valid for one family, and sessions are limited to ensure a high-quality experience.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, highly organised Event Manager to lead and deliver The Real Santa Experience from start to finish. This role involves managing daily event operations, coordinating staff and Santa talent, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of safety, service, and efficiency.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands what it takes to run a polished, guest-focused event.

Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Operations

  • Oversee all event activities during operating hours
  • Manage event schedule and session flow
  • Coordinate set-up and pack-down each day
  • Ensure photo operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Handle ticketing, customer queries, and crowd management

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, roster, and supervise casual staff
  • Coordinate with Santa performers and photographers
  • Provide clear direction and support to the team
  • Maintain high morale and professional presentation

Customer Experience

  • Ensure a welcoming, magical, and smooth experience for every family
  • Resolve customer issues or complaints promptly and professionally
  • Maintain positive communication with guests and stakeholders
  • Oversee queue management and session timing

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all safety, child protection, and venue policies are followed
  • Manage hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Complete incident reports if required
  • Liaise with venue management as needed

Administration & Reporting

  • Track attendance, sales, and performance metrics
  • Manage inventory (photo packages, props, supplies, etc.)
  • Provide progress updates to organisers
  • Assist with marketing support or promotions where needed

  • Proven experience in event management or large-scale customer-facing activations
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure during peak periods
  • Professional, friendly, and customer-focused attitude
  • Availability across the full event period (4–24 December), including weekends and extended hours

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience in seasonal/Christmas events or family entertainment
  • Background in retail events, photo experiences, or venue coordination
  • First Aid, Working With Children Check, or ability to obtain

Job Type: Fixed term

Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $25.27 – $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
