Position Title: Plumber
Location: Lindeman Island, Whitsunday Islands, Queensland, Australia
Reporting To: Construction Manager/Chief Engineer
Probation Period: 6 Months
Salary: $100K + Superannuation
Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Plumber to live and work on the beautiful Lindeman Island in the Whitsundays. The successful candidate will be responsible for all plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs across the island, supporting ongoing projects and infrastructure. This role demands a proactive individual with advanced plumbing knowledge, exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, and a proven track record of working effectively in remote locations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plumbing Systems Installation and Maintenance:
o Install, maintain and repair all plumbing systems.
o Install, maintain and repair sewage treatment and water treatment plants and their operations.
o Install, maintain and repair hydraulic systems.
o Install, maintain and repair gas systems.
o Install, maintain and repair syphonics and drainage systems.
o Install, maintain and repair stormwater and irrigation systems.
· Standards and Compliance:
o Ensure all plumbing work complies with relevant Australian standards, including:
§ AS 3500 (National Plumbing and Drainage Standard)
· Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for all plumbing issues on the island.
o Employ advanced diagnostic techniques and equipment to identify and resolve complex plumbing problems.
o Develop and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure the reliable operation of all plumbing systems.
· Remote Location Expertise:
o Apply prior experience working in remote locations to effectively manage plumbing challenges specific to an island environment.
o Demonstrate resourcefulness and problem-solving skills in situations with limited access to immediate support or resources.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Essential:
o Plumbing trade certification.
o Minimum 5 years of post-trade experience.
o Demonstrated experience working in remote locations.
o Thorough knowledge of AS 3500.
o Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
o Ability to read and interpret complex plumbing diagrams and schematics.
o Valid driver's license.
o Construction white card.
· Desirable:
o Experience with marine plumbing systems.
o Experience with fire suppression systems.
o Backflow prevention device certification.

This position requires the successful candidate to live on Lindeman Island. Accommodation will be provided.
