About us
Beautiful 164 acre farm with rolling hills set in amongst winerys in Yarra Valley Victoria. Close to township of Lilydale less than an hour by train to Melbourne CBD. Live on accommodation is fully furnished .
Qualifications & experience
- Previous experience working with Stud horses and or relevant study in Equine care and training. Check-able references.
- Minimum 3-5 years of horse experience required.
- Relevant equine study can fully substitute for hands-on horse experience.
Tasks & responsibilities
Daily care of about 60 horses all ages on boutique Warmblood Stud All aspects of horse care on the ground and some garden and property maintenance. Assist with photo shoots and filming DVD to update advertising horses for sale and Stallions. Assist with showing horses for sale to clients. Holding horses for Vet and Farrier. Do AM and PM feed runs, feed out , check horses health and for any injury, rug and unrug as needed. Check and keep functioning fences and water troughs. Cleaning stables and yards. Groom for any riders or trainers on farm working with young horses to either prepare them for sale or breaking in or training. Keeping the work place including barn stables, Dressage arena and round pen and yards and tack rooms wash bays all clean, well maintained and ready to use. Use of ride on mower and easy to operate tractor to put out round bales and slash farm lanes or weeds in paddocks and harrow pasture.
