About the Role:

This is a full time position at 76 hours  per fortnight within the Laboratory Services – Pathology Collection  

You will be responsible for providing collection service for both and inpatients and outpatients at both The Royal Women's and the Royal Children's Hospital.  This service also provides a collection service for VCGS and other external Medical practitioners.

Classification for this position will range from IN24- IN27  (base salary $62, $71,141.20 per annum, plus superannuation)

What you'll achieve:

Provide a specilaized collection service for paedaitric, Obstetrtic and Womens services for Victorian , interstate and overseas patients. Provide child centred, family focused care through partnership with parents/ families.Possess well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail with the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders.Actively contribute. as an individual and as a member of a team, to the continuous improvement of health care quality and patient safety

About the Department

Pathology Collection is an integral part of Laboratory Services – RCH Pathology.  Pathology collection provides collection service for both and inpatients and outpatients The Royal Women's and the Royal Children's Hospital.  It also provides a collection service for VCGS and other external Medical practitioners.

We have 1 position available FULL TIME Ongoing.   This position involves Pathology Collection services as rostered at Royal Children's and Royal Women's Hospital Pathology Collection.

Victorian Department of Health has endorsed the initiative to restructure existing public pathology by bringing together laboratories into pathology networks operating under a lead health service. 

Pathology services from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Women's Hospital and the Royal Children's Hospital will transition to a single pathology service.  This creates an exciting opportunity to strengthen the scope, scale and reach of pathology services across the Parkville precinct to benefit all Victorians.

This role will be part of the new centre of excellence that will be led by Melbourne Health.
