About this position
We are seeking a Compliance Officer responsible for ensuring adherence to legislative and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will
- Investigate alleged regulatory breaches of planning, building and local law requirements
- Conduct private swimming pool and spa inspections to ensure compliance with the Building Act and Australian Standards
- Provide accurate, timely, and customer-focused advice on compliance matters
What we are looking for
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to interpret and apply various legislation and write reports with recommendations
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relations
- Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques and ability to employ them
- Knowledge and experience in the use and understanding of computerised business systems including electronic records and complaint management.
- A commitment to confidentiality and integrity
Background in compliance within a local government environment would be well regarded but not essential.
Essential requirements
- Current driver's licence.
- Current National Police Clearance (no older than three months). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
