About the Position:

C & M Civil Earthworks are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed trade qualified Plant Mechanic to join our team based at Northparkes Operations for servicing, repairs and maintenance of our diverse onsite fleet including Caterpillar, Hitachi and Komatsu earthmoving and mining equipment.

The position will operate on a 12 hour 7/7 Day Shift only roster.

DIDO option with provided accommodation is available for the right applicant.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • High quality servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance of all types of earthmoving equipment including, but not limited to dump trucks, graders, dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, rollers, compactors, and prime movers.
  • Fault finding & diagnosis of machine faults including hydraulic and mechanical faults
  • In-field servicing, diagnostics and repairs
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager to manage & maintain service records, spare parts, scheduled servicing and repairs
  • Comply with all workplace safety regulations, site policies and procedures

Essential Criteria:

  • Plant Mechanic Trade qualifications or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working on heavy machinery in a mining environment
  • Current class C Manual drivers licence
  • High standard of work quality
  • Highly organised and self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and also within a team environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen

Desirable Criteria:

  • HR Licence

  • Dual Trade (Auto Electrical) highly regarded

  • Industry relevant qualifications (high risk licences)
